Victory!

All three kids sat with Santa. No one cried. No one was afraid. They all asked for perfectly acceptable items.* It's a dream come true.**

* Quinn asked for trains. Jack decided against asking for a gun ("Can you call it a 'laser shooter', Jack?" I begged.) and instead asked for the book The Polar Express. Sam was talked out of asking for a build your own light saber kit (if such a thing even exists) and asked for a General Grievous Star Wars figurine instead. Guess what? Santa already bought everything except for The Polar Express. And Santa is going to the bookstore tomorrow. Santa is stoked. Can't you see it up there on his face?

** Although I wish I could show you the two photos we didn't buy. They're hysterical. If you tell Quinn to smile, he looks like such a doofus. That boy can't fake it. I almost fell over laughing.

  1. Adorable!!! Mooser looks like he is passing some sort of spiky kidney stone or something when we tell him to smile. Otherwise he tends to look drunk in most pictures. Hard to get a good one of that kid...but he is so darn cute, it just doesn't matter.

And have you seen the general grievous transformer thingy. Pretty cool, I think. Would your boys like this? My boys love it! Build lego people online: http://www.reasonablyclever.com/mini/

  2. Yes, the "build your own light saber" kit actually exists. Unfortunately. My boys asked for those too.
    Adorable picture!

  3. There is such a thing as a build your own light saber kit. I saw it on some web site. And I would love to have a copy of that picture. The Santa doesn't even look scary. YM

  4. Aww, now *that* is some serious holiday cuteness going on there! :-)

  5. The build your own lightsbaer is real. And rather expensive, IIRC.

It's great your boys asked for reasonable items. The one thing Moe adamantly wants is something we didn't plan on buying. Same for the other girls. We are rethinking it though, since they haven't wavered in their requests.

  6. You get major holiday mom points for this one. A treasure! Santa must have popped a quaalude when he saw them coming. I think Jack and Sam may be future engineers.

  7. Congrats on getting a great photo and with all 3 boys in it. I finally got a picture of just the kids with Santa too - a first in 8 years.

  8. What a great picture! One day we'll get a picture with Santa but for now, ours are still to scared of the bearded man in the red suit!

  9. I could eat them with a spoon they are so delicious. And I'd give a piece of chocolate to see the out takes.

  11. This is a dream! We're not even trying this year. We just go up to the second level of the mall and "wave to Santa". This seems to make everyone happy.

  12. What cutie patootis! The santa we went to see failed santa school. When E asked for Pokemon cards, Santa said, "and you need an album to go with it, don't you?" I could've screamed!!!! He's not supposed to tell them more things I need to go get!!! Anyway, I am so glad you got a good shot. Mine did well, too. The first time no one was terified. All our boys did well. Yea!!!

  13. Adorable. And impressive! Getting my kids to sit on Santa's lap is a dream I gave up on. They are all terrified of him. Even the 10 year old.

  14. No one cried!!!! Amazing!!!

This is the first year that we haven't gone to see Santa. I just realized that. Oh, God, I think I'm going to cry. My babies are too old to be interested in sitting on Santa's lap.

  15. If they make a build your own light saber kit I want one too.

    See what Sam knows.
