I Love the Smell of Napalm in the Morning…

I just got a phone call from Alex. He was at work. He was sitting in his office with his friend and they were talking about the Wiggles, because apparently this is what attorneys do.

“I have you on speaker phone,” he said. “I’m sitting here in my office with my friend who was telling me about watching the Wiggles this morning with his child.”

Evidently the Wiggles sang about Henry the Octopus, then they talked about how octopi have eight legs. Then they talked about cats and how they have four legs.

“So, ha! Four legs!” he shouted triumphantly. “The laws of the Wiggles apply!”

Very calmly I said, “But, Alex, I was the one who claimed that cats have four legs.”

There was the slightest of pauses, then some loud cursing, and then he slammed the phone down.

And that, my friends, is what victory sounds like.

(If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read here.)

  1. Hahahaha! Oh, that’s so awesome. My husband has actually done something very similar. I think it’s because he argues with me just to argue sometimes (not because he actually cares about the point he’s arguing). Then he forgets what side he’s on and makes a point to prove my side. It’s awesome. I’ve never had it happen on speaker phone with another person though. Score one for you my friend.

  2. Oh man, how beautiful is this?Victory is sweet…and to think that this one was self-inflicted by your opponent.

Imagine how hard he is berating himself right now. And enjoy.

  3. OMG, this made me laugh out loud, and I’m sitting in a conference room with my managers (one of whom was on a call with verizon tech. support) and they both stared at me. How do I even explain the cats/legs argument history? hahahahahahaa.

Go Team Stimey for having the Wiggles on your side!

  4. Vindicated!!! A most sweet victory – God bless the Wiggles and their infinite wisdom!

    -V :)

  5. The funny thing is that I would say that octopi have ARMS. Maybe that’s because they don’t use them to walk? I am fully on team Stimey on the cats have four legs battle though. And apparently, you win!

  6. I’m a little worried about his ability to litigate… he went to law school right?:)

  7. LMAO!! That is freakin’ hilarious! I bet his friend was laughing at him. I almost feel sorry for him! LOL

  8. Toooooo funny! I think wives of attorneys have to have a really thick skin. Man, do these men love to win an argument. It takes some getting used to, to say the least.
