Stimey Is Happy.

The other day I lost my cell phone. It’s gone. I can’t find it. It’s totally tragic.

Or is it?

Because my next phone was going to be an iPhone, it made no sense to buy another cell phone or get a free one on my T-Mobile account.

So I bought an iPhone.

(You understand why I looked for the phone, but I didn’t kill myself looking for it.)

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!

I looooooove it.

So here’s my question: What apps do I need? In particular I’m looking for a feed reader if there’s a good one and a twitter app. Plus anything else I can’t live without.

*****

Also, please be pregnant in Chicago and want to win something.

  1. I knew you would love it!!! You can try Tweetie for twittering. I have no idea about the feed thing though.
And make sure you get some kid games on there too, because if you are ever stuck in a waiting room with no entertainment with you, the iphone is awesome (you know, once you are over the “it’s mine, you can’t touch it” phase)

  2. I’m jealous. Last week, CC was dunking my Blackjack into the dogs’ water bowl over and over again. I did stop him, but I was really really hoping it wasn’t going to dry out.

    It did.

    No iPhone for me. Sigh.

  3. I only have an iPod Touch but the applications are the same…
    - Twitterific
    - The google ap has Google Reader in it which I like for blog reading
    - Pandora is a really cool application
    - Fring is cool for chat (though you have to be currently logged in to use it)
    - Urbanspoon is fun for finding restaurants
    - My husband is addicted to the skee ball game (10balls7cups)

BTW, I just got mine last week. :)

  4. Yahoo!!! You did it! You will not regret it for a single second.

    Okay, here are my faves:

Pandora, Facebook, TwitterFon, Bread & Milk, Amazon.com, i.TV, Urbanspoon, Kindle, iTalk.

And the ones that keep the boys out of trouble: Lightsaber, JellyCar, Word Magic, ABC Animals, Toy Bot.

    Have fun!

  5. I’m jealous, congrats. My husband just found out that his work is switching carriers and he’s getting one. How is that fair when I’m stuck with a cheesy flip phone?

  6. I’m almost too jealous to comment. I have the dumb Blackberry storm which is like the boring uptight iPhone. I hate it and my dumb Verizon contract that doesn’t end until 2017 or something like that.

  7. I’ll probably wind up offering repeats, but here goes: twitterific, google reader, facebook, amazon, google search (voice activated), pandora, urbanspoon, iTalk, phoneflix (for managing netflix account on the go. And for the kids: tower smash, jelly car, labyrinth. And for me: lexic and wurdle (word games).

    Have a blast!!

  8. I’m holding off getting either a Blackberry or iPhone until just prior to BlogHer. Then I’ll really really neeeeed it.

You’re making it hard to wait!

    Can’t wait for the review!

  9. I use NetNewsWire (which hooks to NewsGator) for feeds and TwitterFon for Twitter. I used to use Twinkle for Twittering and that was OK too.

I have a ton of apps, but I haven’t used some of them extensively. My other favorite apps would be WritingPad (easier than regular Notes for composing e-mails), Yelp to search for restaurants/shopping by current location, and Amazon’s iPhone app.

For games, I like Fuzzle and WordPlay best (both have lite versions but I got the paid ones b/c they were so good). My kids like Moosentration Lite, Scribble, and Whack’em All.

    Have Fun!!

  10. Ohmigosh–why have I not thought of losing my phone in a tragic dumpster-at-work accident?

Excuse me, please, the work garbage really needs to go out. And I’m not even on the schedule today ; )

  11. I. Am. So. Jealous.

B once bought me a canary yellow phone so I wouldn’t leave it on top of the van and drive off.

Sadly, I left it in a black “tinypurse” that I took to a wedding and was far too small for me to remember it.

Still, I have no iPhone or anything similarly interesting.

    Cheers to you!
