Black cat, tux cat, small cat, new cat.
This one has a little shoe.
This one has a little mew.
Some are near and some are far.
Say! What a lot of cats there are.
Yes. Some are black and some others are too.
Some are old and some are new.
Some are sad and some are glad.
And some are very, very bad.
Why are they sad and glad and bad?
I do not know; go ask your dad.
Some have friends.
Some have games.
Some have very funny names.
Some hog chairs.
Some like to stare.
Some look like they have no eyes there.
Some are fast and some are slow.
Some are high and some are low.
Not one of them is like another.
Don’t ask us why; go ask your mother.
Some sit on kiddo tums.
Others make pillows out of other’s bums.
Some read books.
Some hide in nooks.
Some give you cockeyed looks.
Some cats spend a lot of time trying to doze.
Some cats have learned to perfect a pose.
Those cats then shove their face into someone’s nose.
Look what we found in the hole in this bowl:
We will take her home; we will call her Oreo.
She will live at our house; she will grow and grow.
Will our mother like this? We don’t know.
Some cats are glad they get to watch a friend play a game.
Because others lick their tummy stitches and have to wear a homemade cone of shame.
Today is gone. Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.
Every day, from here to there,
Funny things are everywhere.
