One Cat, Two Cat, Black Cat, Tux Cat

Black cat, tux cat, small cat, new cat.

IMG_1529This one has a little shoe.

IMG_1477This one has a little mew.

Some are near and some are far.
Say! What a lot of cats there are.

IMG_1492Yes. Some are black and some others are too.
Some are old and some are new.
Some are sad and some are glad.
And some are very, very bad.

IMG_1455Why are they sad and glad and bad?
I do not know; go ask your dad.

Some have friends.

IMG_1482Some have games.

IMG_1677Some have very funny names.

Some hog chairs.

Some like to stare.

IMG_1615Some look like they have no eyes there.

IMG_1448Some are fast and some are slow.
Some are high and some are low.
Not one of them is like another.
Don’t ask us why; go ask your mother.

Some sit on kiddo tums.

IMG_1663Others make pillows out of other’s bums.

IMG_1539Some read books.

IMG_1659Some hide in nooks.

IMG_1489Some give you cockeyed looks.

IMG_1526Some cats spend a lot of time trying to doze.

IMG_1467Some cats have learned to perfect a pose.

IMG_1500Those cats then shove their face into someone’s nose.

IMG_1501Look what we found in the hole in this bowl:

IMG_1510We will take her home; we will call her Oreo.
She will live at our house; she will grow and grow.
Will our mother like this? We don’t know.

Some cats are glad they get to watch a friend play a game.

IMG_1628Because others lick their tummy stitches and have to wear a homemade cone of shame.

IMG_1673Today is gone. Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.
Every day, from here to there,
Funny things are everywhere.

  1. Absolutely brilliant! And you’ve totally cracked how to take great photos of black animals. I must try again with Bruce, our black gerbil. He looks like a gerbil-shaped hole in most pics.

I think here in the UK Tuxedo cats are known as Jellicles. I had one called Smudge. She didn’t have a moustache though. I LOVE the moustache.

  2. But no mention of the dog. Still have the dog? Or the rodents. You know there are interactions in your future that will add drama to your lives, right? Where I’m from cats are for keeping rodents out of the outbuildings. I suppose you are short of barns there? At any rate, it looks as if you have made the boys quite happy, and that’s never a bad thing.

  3. I think you need to get this in book form. Shutterfly or something. Someday your kids can read it to their kids and your grandkids will say “So Grandma was always kind of a crazy cat lady?”

  4. They are so adorable! The one with the little black mustache is killing me though. That is too cute.

  5. OMG yes, I totally second the photobook idea!! Actually, print like two dozen and sell them, I would totally buy a hilarious kitty poem Suess-spoof book.

  6. Some cats like farms, and some like houses.
Do cats have arms? Yes – to catch mouses.

OK, they are adorable! Good thing I’m allergic to cats, or I would drive right on over to the rescue and get one.

  7. Also, the photo of the kitten with the venetian blinds is priceless. I’m pretty sure my sister’s cat used to get trapped between the blinds and the window. Looking for birds, I guess.

  8. I’m late to this party but…KITTENS?!?!

WARL is the best. We got the family’s two buggers from there as well.
